Dharamshala

This hill village is located 17 kilometres to the northeast of Kangra town on a point of the Dhauladhar range. This hill station is covered with oak and pine trees, with a valley in front and three sides of the town surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The snowline is possibly easier to reach in Dharamshala than in any other hill resort, and with an early start, it is doable to walk to a snow point in one day. Kangra district headquarters are located at Dharamshala.

Dharamsala is famous for its breathtaking scenery, peace, and tranquilly. It has tea gardens, tall pine trees, and trees that provide wood. Wintertime temperatures can reach the freezing threshold, necessitating the wearing of thick wool clothing. The weather is warm in the summer, thus light cottons and woollens are advised.

Kangra Museum

The Kangra Museum is home to a number of items and artefacts that are important to the Kangra Valley culture and Tibetan Buddhism. The institution also has a library, and the different manuscripts, handmade items, and pottery found here date to the fifth century.

Mc-Leod Ganj

McLeod Ganj, which lies 2,082 metres above sea level on average, is named for Sir Donald Friell McLeod, the Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab who oversaw the region's development. The location is well-known for its many features, including the 14th Dalai Lama's palace. One of Dharamshala's most popular destinations, the area is known for its Tibetan culture, handicrafts, and temples. The highest mountain, Hanuman Tibba, is visible from McLeod Ganj and is 5,639 metres above sea level.
